April showers bring May flowers, but what else does April bring? District Conferences! Yes, that’s right. The district conferences are here and have started off with a bang!
Over the last 3 years, ABWA National has offered Extreme Makeover programs; building, updating and improving these programs each year. This year, however, is a bit different. ABWA National has added to the Makeover tracks. “Plan B” (Professional Programs in a Pinch), ABWA Leader Series and the Best Practices Submission Procedures. What a line up and what a great opportunity for the leaders of your groups to receive the necessary tools to carry your groups and this association forward for another 60 years! Additionally, each group that attends the “Plan B” class will receive 3 complete professional development programs ready to deliver to your group “in a pinch”, should your speaker be a no show. But, the only way to receive these programs is to attend the class at a district conference. And you certainly don’t want to miss the Best Practices class, where your board will be the presenters.
What is that you say? You’re not registered yet? Well, it’s not too late. Go to www.abwa.org and click on “National Events” to register for the next district conference. Your national board is ready to support, mentor and be your cheerleader as you travel down the Best Practices road.
April and May also bring forth another special time in this association - the time Chapters and Express Networks recognize their Chapter Women of the Year and Top Ten Candidates. Congratulations to all the Women of the Year and Top Ten Candidates!! You are the SUPERSTARS of the association!
Thank you to all those groups who have sent me their newsletters. I enjoy reading them and seeing all the great things you are doing! If I’m not on your distribution list, please add me. My email address is: abwaamy@comcast.net.
Your national board is here for you. Don’t hesitate to reach out for support. The journey you are on is best walked with a friend. We are here for you.
I look forward to walking with you on your journey.
In ABWA friendship,

2007-2008 National Secretary-Treasurer
2004 Top Ten Businesswoman
